The Challenge

“With everything that has happened to you, you can either feel sorry for yourself or treat what has happened as a gift. Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose.”
― Wayne W. Dyer

Since a situation that happened in my own life that I was not prepared for, I felt sorry for myself. Looking back at how everything unraveled, it felt as if I was a yoyo falling to the ground. Refusing to acknowledge the support around me I was dropping straight down with nothing to protect me from the ground, alone. After a long time of sulking in my own choices, I slowly began to do research on motivational quotes that could help me to realize my potential and get out of the ruff. I posted quotes all around my room and in my bathroom to constantly remind myself of my goals and how I should not let myself down. i would also post occasionally on instagram and Facebook for my friends and family to see and be encouraged.

One day, while I was reading quotes by an array of different people, i came across the name Les Brown. Being the nosey researcher I am, I decided to look him up. Not only did he have a website, but many videos that he posted for the public to see had been put up as well. I spent hours just listening to this amazing speaker talk to the greatness in me and challenge me to be better. For the first time I understood all the weak and fearful choices that I had made in my life thus far, that propelled me through life, to the very place I was sitting and listening to this man speak.

After the feeling that I experienced, I decided to do more research and find out how many people shared Mr. Brown’s occupation. I wanted to know and hear from his collegues, along with speakers that had inspired him in the early pursuit of his destiny. In this search I found speakers like Jim Rohn, Wayne Dyer, Zig Ziglar and Eric Thomas just to name a few. Listening to their messages began to help change the way that I thought about life and how i should live it. It made me realize how wrong my mindset was about going after what I want in life. Going with the voice of resistance and fear was a regular decision of mine and I understood in listening to these teachings that it was something I no longer wanted to do.

One of the reasons for creating this blog and setting the goal of posting specific messages for readers, is to pass on the wonderful messages that these humanitarians have dedicated their lives to helping us understand and practice on a daily basis. Being able to learn new things that help others to realize that they each have a destiny, is my ultimate goal.

I am hopeful that in writing about my own life, along with the lives of successful people through the avenues of culture, style and inspiration will help you to realize your own greatness and make a decision to stop wasting this incredible life that you were chosen to live. Stop making excuses, and start making progress. You can do anything, just believe you can.
